felix	your disregard for animal life is disgusting. maybe if you leave the house without your drivers license, someone should dispose of you for a pack of smokes.
Candi	????? My cat or dog has a collar, he gets out of my house or yard, I am at work, someone catches him takes off his collar and turns him in for $5.00 and then you kill him (HOW MANT TIMES WILL THIS HAPPEN?) He may be a stary to you but to me he is family.

Friend of animals	I find that most people who hate cats are scared of them and or for some dumb reason they think it is not cool for a guy to like cats. It says a lot about what kind of a person they are. Step back and take a good look at yourself.
Law Question	What are the laws in Randolph? Is there a leash law for cats? Or do you just kill cats who are legally loose?
Stats	Here are some stats 10-12 MILLION pets die in shelters every year. Maybe the mayor should work with his vet friend and set up a once a month low cost spay/neuter day, let the mayor give his $5.00 towards each spay/neuter. Much smarter then a bounty.
Pet Owner	When these pets are taken to Sidney for DISPOSAL are they held their stray time so their family has time to claim them? Or do you just put another notch in your belt? VERY COLD, not a good light on Randolph.

dog owner	We have a fenced yard with a back gate that we keep locked, we let out our dog to go potty not knowing someone had cut the lock and entered our yard leaving the gate open, I'm just glad we don't live in Randolph we got our dog back alive a live.

Cost?	This cost the people of Randolph more then $5 per animal, you also have the cost of transport and the cost of having the animal killed this is not a free service. What is the real cost per animal?
I Agree	I agree with the person Cost, the cost per animal would be better spent if the town put that money in to a spay & neuter clinic less roaming, less litters, smarter choise. I am sure there is also a boarding fee per animal.

Joan pet owner	I am amazed at how far behind some towns are people of Randolph, this is 2008 there are better ways to control roaming pets then to put a bounty on their heads.

Julie	It seems even though this is for dogs & cats, cats seem to be the target. Work with cat owners, help them spay or neuter their pets, cat population will go down (every cat fixed will be 4-7 less kittens born)

Foster	Instead of sending these pets to a vet costing money to have them PTS set up an adoption area with a set adoption or reclaim fee if you have no area to house them get a few foster homes, works for other towns contact a local shelter and work with them.

Sad Randolpher	I am not a pet owner no cat no dog, but I feel this is wrong. I am sad to say I live in a small Ia town were pets are not safe. What outsiders must think of us,we sould hold our heads down in shame.

fancydance	Who decided and was it an open meeting? Check into it people!! The mayor/city council have rules they must abide by. The vet should be ashamed of him/herself (and boycotted) as well as the mayor. Someone should report to the Humane Society.
Anne	No cat makes the CHOICE to be homeless or to propagate! It isn't the cats' fault, but that of humans who don't HELP strays or spay/neuter their cats. WE create feral cats, then punish them for OUR actions. The mayor is not only heartless, but IGNORANT.
flaubertfan	The mayor's specifications state that the animal must be "live," not that it must be unharmed. What if people follow the mayor's example of devaluing life, and starts harming these animals for fun?! + Kids who start abusing animals end up abusing people.
Stating the Obvious	Take the animals to a pound or board them at the vet's. Vaccinate, spay/neuter, photograph and publicize the animals online. Market the idea of saving these animals. Sell the animals as pets for a little over vet bills, and use the money for the city.
So Many Problems with This	Yet another problem. How will these trusting animals be "disposed of"-- i.e. killed? It costs money to kill animals HUMANELY. If this is going to happen, we need to ensure it is at least done humanely!!

I have an "outdoor cat" who is neutered and gets yearly shots but wont leave a collar on. How sad I will have to tell my kids he will have to find a new home thanks!!!!! so stupid
Put this Into Perspective	A lot of towns and cities have problems with homeless people. If we can't prove these people belong to a family who cares about them, can I get $25 for turning one of them in? Didn't think so! Then why are you doing it to these innocent animals?

willard	well i have a solution to the problem since my cat wont leave a collar on i have taken the liberty of putting him in is carrier for the night! he hates it! however i did leave him outside i hop ehe keep the whole town awake! its a bad thing to do i know.
ERNIE	iowa law prevents the killing of animals. there are other ways to contain and manage stray dogs and cats ... check out the many options on various web sites or try contacting PETA ... bounty is a thing of the past

RUFF	Sidney vet does not just DISPOSE of animals, they are more humane then that. I will make sure any animals coming from Randolph is properly investigated.
Good Kitty	Council member Al W. stated no cats turned in yet to the mayor. Not a true statement. Kid turned in a tame cat for its crimes against Randolph citizens and recieved $5.
Done Deal!	The Council and Mayor have already decided in the last council meeting and the Mayor sent letters out to everyone in town.

Concerned Neighbor	This was a terrible decision by the Randolph City Council. Now that it's made the news - every cat in Fremont County is in danger!
The Infuriated	I don't know whether to cry, vomit, or "dispose" of someone myself. This is sick and disturbing news. There are so many other HUMANE methods with which they could deal with stray animals. Sadly, it seems Randolf's mayor is a bit too daft to see this.
